Happy #9 Tyson

The plans were set a year ago, minutes after his last birthday guest left his 8-year-old birthday celebration. "Next year I'm celebrating my birthday at "Laser Tag!" And since the location was already decided a year in advance, the other party details were simple....
#1---Pre-birthday celebration at school--White cupcakes, white frosting, with sprinkles on top. CHECK

#2---Guests will arrive at Laser Tag location in downton Shanghai regardless of traffic jam block-ups and conventions outside the stadium. CHECK
#3---Pizza will be delivered from Papa Johns to the stadium. Cheese and Pepperoni requested. CHECK

#4---Little brothers are allowed at the party ONLY if they don't touch the presents, or actually play the laser tag with the older 9-year-olds. (CHECK---WELL MAYBE)
Looks like someone has snuck in on this game with the big boys.....
#5---Four laser tag games will be played during the party in a non-air conditioned room, causing 15 nine-year-old boys to sweat, and smell like animals. CHECK

#6---Chocolate cake will be served after the fourth laser tag game, and goodie bags will be distributed. Spilled soda pop from several of the boys will begin to be cleaned up by one of 4 Chinese helpers assisting the party. CHECK

#7---Birthday boy will blow out candles, and instantly tell guests and parents that he wishes for a fish tank filled with fish for his birthday. CHECK
#8---Birthday boy will open presents, and quickly stash them behind the counter so little brother can not touch or break. CHECK
#9---15 guest, 1 birthday boy, a little brother, and Mom, will exit the non-air-conditioned laser tag stadium with goat-like smelling boys, and quickly realize that goat-like smelling boys are a lot better than what the next smell will be. Broken sewage pipes leaking raw sewage will be flooding the streets outside causing everyone to hop over puddles and into our car. UNFORTUNATELY, CHECK

#10--Upon arrival at home, birthday boy will spend hours playing with his new birthday gifts. CHECK

#11---Birthday Boy will wake up the next morning to find out his birthday wish has come true. A fish tank with loads of fish, a chinese bridge, and an alligator whose mouth opens and closes. Birthday boy's mother will be happy to find out her wish has also come true--the nice chinese fish store worker will come clean and maintain the fish tank for $8/visit. CHECK

#12---Birthday boy's planning skills pay off, and birthday goes just as planned. CHECK
#13---Birthday boy immediately begins the plans for hiS TENTH birthday. CHECK

Wow Tyson is 9! You are brave to do the laser tag thing! Hudson has been asking me to do that for like 3 years! It's so ridiculously expensive though! Maybe for his #10 coming up in December. What a great birthday- talk about getting everything you want! I saw he had Star Wars LEGOS- bring him over, he and Easton could spend days with all the LEGO sets we have!

This was the greatest birthday party, Tyson! You really know how to plan some super-duper fun. Probably the next best thing without being there was reading and looking pictures about it. They were the best! Your mother should write for a magazine!

Love, Grandma Laura
