All who LOVE Easter say "I"!! Looks pretty unanimous that everyone is a definite fan, and from our Easter week activities, it's no surprise why!
It's not a proper week with this cousin crew if Classic Skating is not in the plans. It's a must to get to Classic at opening, and staying all day is just the norm! A full fun day event, and a Wilde family tradition. Needless to say, there are always a few kids who don't even make it out of the parking lot on our way home, before they are already asleep.....Our motto is Play all Day!
Definitely a lot more daily fun was happening on our Easter week vacay with the cousins, but preparations for Easter were also in the works. Dozens of hard boiled eggs were waiting for plenty of little hands to dye and decorate......
Grandma Wilde is always incredibly patient with any arts and crafts projects with the grandkids. (Of course she is also the most incredibly skilled preschool teacher in the valley too!) A visit to Grandma Wilde's house without a question means fun and creativity to the max!
Easter Eggs dyed and ready........now bring on the SUGAR EGGS, another Grandma Wilde tradition! Every year, Grandma hand makes hundreds of sugar eggs for her preschool students as well as her grandkids. We witnessed how much work goes into the egg making process......First a sugar mixture is pressed into eggs molds, next the eggs properly dry, pulled from the molds, and then finally Grandma teaches the kids to decorate not only the outside of the egg halves, but the inside as well. When each egg is added the perfect touches, the final step is to join the two halves together to create a perfect and adorable Easter Egg. Soooo much work, but Grandma LOVES to make her students and grandkids happy, so the tradition continues.
And now with all the egg preparations complete......bring on the "Wilde Cousin Easter Egg Hunt!!"
The final activity of the evening truly made our Easter vacation complete. Our favorite Elder just arrived in Sydney, Australia, and what better way to help welcome him to a new country then sending sweet letters and messages from each of Bracken's cousins! We are so grateful for Bracken's example to so many younger brother's and cousins! We miss him so much, but could not be more happy for the service and love he is showing to others. We LOVE you Bracken!!
Elder Wilde with his Mission President and Sister Howes
A successful and safe arrival to Sydney for Elder Wilde, and a successful Easter holiday with our family in Utah......our week could not be more perfect! Perfect to us means time spent with family, traditions that bring us together, and memories that are made as a result. Long live the traditions regardless of how old the boys become......and Long Live the Wilde Family Easter Egg Hunt that awaited us upon our arrival home from Utah. Yes, this is our definition of PERFECT!!
HAPPY EASTER 2014!

I cannot believe how much work Linda puts in to make all those eggs! They are adorable and you can definitely see how much the kids love them! The whole Easter tradition for the Wildes is just plain fun! And reminding them of missionary work and what their brother/cousin is doing will only further their desire to be just like him. Bracken is such a wonderful role model!
