Heaven in Hong Kong

This past weekend, the city of Hong Kong hosted the Asia Women's Conference for Relief Society sisters in nine Asian countries. Thanks to Anna, and a very supporting husband, I was able to join fifteen fabulous Pudong branch sisters whom I adore, for a weekend of inspirational and spirtitual messages.

Throughout the three-day conference, we were able to choose classes of varying topics. Three of the speakers were from our branch in Shanghai. They did an incredible job, and made us all so proud. We were also given blocks of time to work on service projects which included sewing "comfort caps" and teddy bears. The caps would be distributed to needy cancer patients throughout Hong Kong, and the teddy bears would be given to different charities throughout Asia.

Each day after we had been "spiritually fed", we LOVED being "physically fed" at familiar and favorite spots found in Hong Kong. Our favorites......Mrs. Fields and Outback Steakhouse!

And not only did our weekend in Hong Kong provide spiritual and physical nourishment, but we were also provided a few friendly public health postings that we NEVER witness on the mainland. We quickly realized Hong Kong is miles ahead in the public health aspect, and wished we could take some of these postings back to Shanghai!! What---spitting is not acceptable???

Our most favorite part of the weekend was having the opportunity to attend the Hong Kong temple together. Like every other temple across the world, this temple is amazingly beautiful. It was an incredible experience to be amongst so many sisters you love and admire. I am not only blessed to be aquainted with these women, but also belong to the worldwide Relief Society--"The Greatest Organization for Women in the World."(President Gordon B. Hinckley)

(A special thanks to my darling friend Tami Christensen who took this picture of the temple...isn't it gorgeous?)

What a great experience! Being with such wonderful sisters, doing fantastic service projects, hearing great talks, and being able to go to the temple. It doesn't get much better than that!

That sounded like a truly memorable weekend. There is something about the Temple that is like coming home...no matter if you are in China, or Japan, or the Salt Lake Temple it is lovely and comfortingly familiar.
Love you!

You lucky girl!! What an amazing experience! By the way, Preston is so dang cute. He reminds me a little of Garner at that age. I think I could take him home with me!
