The Champion Titans

It was our first sports season since our return to the United States.  Tyson was not sure what to expect, or how he stood athletic wise compared to the boys in San Francisco.  We all had great expectations of Tyson and his new team, and looked forward to an exciting soccer season.  Unfortunately, our excitement was quickly dampened when we found out Tyson's team still had no specific designated coach, but instead three dads (including his own who was still recovering from his achilles surgery) that were willing to assist as much as their work schedule would permit---(not always the most effective coaching strategy!)  We feared a pretty disappointing season was approaching, but we couldn't have been more wrong!!  Two local high school seniors who played on the high school soccer team volunteered to take on the coaching role of the Titans, and took the Titans from average to........ CHAMPIONS!!  With the help of encouraging coaches, and lots of practice time, Tyson truly came ALIVE this season, playing better than we had ever seen him play before!!  Our Saturday mornings were filled with soccer, and we loved every minute of it!  How proud we were when the Titans were announced Champions as they continued to beat out all the top teams in the season end tournament.  Way to go Titans!  Way to go Tyson!!

Aren't sports the greatest for kids, especially boys?! Looks like Tyson is a great player. You did do a fantastic job of capturing him in action. He looks like he has fit right in with kids, especially when the team can win the trophy!

I am finally getting to enjoy all the posts I've missed in the last month. When we saw Tyson at the condo, I couldn't believe how much he has grown. He dives into everything he does, giving it his all. I agree with Joyce. You got some great action pictures. Way to go, Tyson! You are a champion in every way--not just soccer. You are just a really nice young man!
