America--We LOVE this place!

We made it! Even though it was a very long flight from Shanghai to Salt Lake City, the journey was actually quite tolerable. Now that Delta has bought out Northwest Airlines, there is a flight that makes the journey seem very direct. You simply take a flight from Shanghai to Tokyo (2 1/2 hours), have a one hour layover, and then catch a non-stop 10 1/2 hour flight from Tokyo to SLC---loved it! And a bigger bonus was that the flight was not completely filled, which allowed for extra rows for the boys to sleep. However, allowing the boys to sleep almost the entire flight was "bitter-sweet"---the flight was enjoyable, but the next few days of jet-lag were a KILLER!! The boys didn't seem to mind the jet-lag as much as their mom. They used this time to catch up on some good early morning 3:00 a.m. "cereal picnics." And as Tyson so happily stated, "I love America, you can eat as much Sugar Cereal as you want." (Unfortunately this is true--as prices for cereal in China are almost triple the amount as in the states. It's hard to enjoy a bowl of Lucky Charms when the box is close to $12!! So, every summer when we come back to Grandma's house the boys LOAD UP on their favorite cereals, and nobody stops them.)
And since we were on the topic of "western food" at our 3:00a.m. early morning picnic, here is our list of MUST EATS while in America:

Yes, we DO LOVE the food here in America, but we must say the biggest reason we love this place is Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins GALORE!!! We are looking forward to a fabulous summer with you!
