Earlier that morning, here at the Wilde home, we hadn't forgotten Tyson's birthday either, and of course the traditional white cake/white frosting with sprinkles cupcakes were ready and waiting for his new 5th grade class......
We also had not forgotten that Tyson had planned his 11th birthday party several months ago, and had already notified several of his friends before he had left for summer to the states, that his birthday party would be held at the Laser Tag Stadium to celebrate his big 11.
The following day, we called Mike and invited him to a family party celebrating Tyson, assuring him there would be Diet Coke, and of course American Chocolate Brownies.......
Without fail, when Mike arrived, he reminded Tyson he was "The Best of The Wilde Boys", and without fail, we were all highly amused. Looking ahead to Tyson's birthday next year, we are not sure how Tyson will be able to fully celebrate his birthday without his yearly visit from Mike as we will already have moved to the states. However, we fully anticipate that he will still remember "Tyson, the Best American Boy" for many years from now, and Tyson will always smile when he remembers Mike!!
Thanks Mike for all the memories, the sweet tokens, your service, and the smiles you have provided for our family---you will definitely never be forgotten.
BONUS.....Thanks Mike for the beautiful Chinese flag, and pink parrot lapel pins you gave me too, and it wasn't even my birthday (: What a unique surprise!! (:
AND......HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a boy that without fail continues to make our family proud!!!

Oh, my goodness, I had a smile this entire post, but by the time I got to the end, I was literally laughing out loud!!! This brought back so many memories of Mike. By the way, tell him "hi" from Grandma and Grandpa. He was always so good to us--remembering every day our Diet Coke, plus he even brought Grandpa ice cream to the airport to pick him up--well, let's just say it was cream by the time he got there, not too much ice. Anyway, Happy Birthday to Tyson. What a great, fun kid he is! Everything is an adventure to him--if not, he makes it that way for everyone else!
happy bday tyson!! loved your fun blockbuster post! missed seeing you though! maybe next year when you live in the states:)
Happy birthday to your Tyson. I only wish I knew him better because he looks like the best kid ever. That was such a neat compliment your friend Mike gave him and it is pretty special to be so uniquely thought of by others. He looked like he had a great birthday.
This still totally cracks me up. I love it. It was so fun to see you guys this summer...not enough, but we'll take what we can get. Looks like your summer was crazy and amazing. Can't wait to get you guys back on our continent.
