Halloween Week

Halloween celebrations went on literally a week here in China.  Different neighborhoods chose different days to host trick-or-treating, and parties were staggered on different school days.  Throw in some church parties, and friend parties, and it was a week of non-stop costume wearing, candy eating, and party hopping FUN!!

Preston's Pre-School Party

Tyson's Class Party
----it didn't seem appropriate just finishing a "Healthy Food Unit," for the 5th graders to bust out the JUNK, so what greater idea than to serve up the kids some "Alternative" healthy but yummy snacks.  This included pumpkin puree muffins with lite cool whip topping (which Tyson said were AMAZING), apple slices, and veggies with a delicious dip!!

Pudong Branch Party
-----We already ADORE these amazing women who work with our children in the primary each week, but WOW,  can they throw a PARTY!!!

(If this is Alison, she is obviously out of character, in every way!)

Trick-or-Treating
----a pizza block party followed by literally hundreds of trick or treaters, not to mention taxi and bus loads of locals coming to join this crazy western holiday....HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Loved your costumes and the fun ways you celebrated Halloween in China. How did you come up with so many different ideas! I can't decide which one was my favorite...the Hula dancer, Italian chef or the witch. Tyson's class party looked pretty special and one that he will always remember with his mother coming to help. You do such a great job supporting all your kids' activities.

Alison, your chef costume was just a hoot! In fact, all of the costumes in your pictures were great. We were in Naples, Italy, on Halloween and found it interesting that they celebrate the holiday just like we do in America, and then to see that the Chinese do too.

Alison, I really wasn't sure who the chef was! Seriously, that cracked me up! The parties all looked like so much fun--the clever games (loved the golf ball one!), the food, and all the kids dressed up. What fun!
