Halloween Happenings

Halloween hasn't always been a personal favorite of mine, but the boys have always LOVED it, and they have definitely always looked forward to it.  I decided a few years ago, that maybe if I got more involved in the fun and festivities of the holiday, just maybe I would enjoy it a bit more too.  Sure 'nuff, ever since my new and improved Halloween attitude was set, I truly have enjoyed this holiday so much more........Now the real question would be, how do the boys feel about their Mom's no shame Halloween spirit?  Well, let's just say the middle school age and older definitely do not forget their homework or lunches on this day, because for some reason they fear who will come dressed delivering it :)  Regardless, I do have to admit, I do love the smiles and smirks I bring on from my four boys and husband each year!!

Tyson and Preston picked a very involved Star Wars template for our jack-o-lantern carving fun.  We weren't sure if we would finish the project before Halloween day actually arrived.  However, with all of our efforts combined, we finished our masterpiece in plenty of time, and maybe even a bit too early.  Three days before Halloween Day, unfortunately our jack-o-lanterns were filled with mold and mush.  No worries, we decided the added mold just gave our masterpiece just a little more character, and we proudly kept them on display!!

The day arrived, and the costumes were chosen carefully.  Tyson had a hard time deciding which costume was best, so he divided the day between Harry Potter and Chiquita Banana.

Preston's costume choice couldn't have been more perfect!  As he entered his classroom, he was surprised and absolutely ecstatic that William Bear, the class mascot, had also chosen to be Anakin Skywalker too.  As a result, Preston (Anakin) was chosen to escort William Bear  (Anakin), and the rest of his kindergarten class through the Halloween parade, and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING could have made him happier!!

Halloween activities followed throughout the day with games and activities at school, and a fabulous evening of trick-or-treating with friends that evening.  Yes, our Halloween celebration this year was FANTASTIC, and now I only have 364 days left to think up my next Halloween surprise!  Yes, this Halloween spirit is here to stay!!

Looks like everyone got totally involved with Halloween, even John helping with your pumpkin masterpieces! That little Preston is just a doll (if you can say that about a boy!). Loved your Raggedy Ann outfit, Alison! That is a classic!!!

I love that you love to dress up on Halloween! As you know, I never was in to doing that, but you are such a great mother for making it so much fun for everyone by being involved!
