My newest birthday recommendation......
If you are ever just passing through Asia, or its' vicinity, and it is your birthday (be it 20, 30, 40, or 70 years) Lankawi is a perfect destination for celebrations. It offers fabulous mountain and island views from cable cars, interesting jungle hiking on every hiking level (wildlife included), quaint Malaysian restaurants that definitely please, daily sailing adventures to nearby islands, gorgeous golf courses, the most relaxing spas, and if you have the time, much, much more!

| Meet "Nor"--jungle guide extraordinaire! Sure he could spot anything and everything that was in the jungle with his keen eye--however, there were enough termites, spiders, leaches, man size ants, and monkeys to keep my eyes alert the entire trek!! |

Oh, I'm so glad John treated you to such a wonderful place for your birthday. With all the trauma and stress of the fire and moving and more moving, you guys definitely needed to get away. And what a wonderful place to relax! Way to go, John! You always do things in a big way!
This makes me 1) want to turn 40 tomorrow, and 2) be married to Johnny today! :)
So happy that you had a wonderful vacation for your big bday. Then again, I secretly think you could have had JUST as much fun in "The Cove". You certainly could have met just as "unique" bugs (and people?), of course! Have you been to Harveys? Enough said.

What a beautiful location! You two have visited places in the world that I didn't even know existed! That's great that you have taken the opportunity to travel the world while you are still so young (Alison, 40 is still young, believe it or not!) Thanks for sharing!!!
