Easter just makes me smile!

These four boys-----they are definitely four "GOOD EGGS"!  They might not always be "Grade A EGGS", and sometimes they are a bit "SPOILED",  or down right "ROTTEN", but deep down to their very "YOKE", we adore and love them.  Today on Easter Sunday, as we attended our church meetings and listened to the Easter messages, I was grateful to reflect on the main reason we celebrate Easter---Jesus Christ's atonement and His resurrection.  I was grateful for the knowledge that even though none of us are "PERFECT EGGS",  and we can even be "CRACKED" sometimes, because of Christ's atonement, we can repent and be forgiven.  Because of this knowledge, on my most favorite holiday of the year, I wear a constant smile!

Unfortunately Parker was not feeling well during our early morning church meetings.  However, after a couple of cold tablets, and a quick reminder that the little plastic Easter eggs the bunny had left the night before were filled with American candy and some $$, he perked right up.  Egg hunts no matter young or old---another reason to smile!

Soooo many reasons to be grateful and smile, and so grateful  sooo many of those reasons are right under my roof.  Here are a few more reasons I am smiling as of late.......

BRACKEN
It's Junior/Senior Prom at Shanghai American School---I force a smile before I cry as my "little boy" walks out that door.......

PARKER
Non-stop reasons to smile or even burst into laughter when Parker is around!  Lately the weather has been so perfect here in Shanghai you can always find Parker outdoors playing basketball.  No worries if he can't persuade a brother of his to defend him on the court, there are always multiple Chinese drivers or workers around that he is able to recruit using his best Chinese..........

TYSON
By far the most gentle of the Wilde boys, and is genuine even to the dogs......Only Tyson is willing to sacrifice 2/3 of his bed to make sure Rosco and Roxy are comfy.  A perfect way to start my day every morning at 6:00a.m. with a smile.....

What else makes me smile?  Hearing the stampede of 75 primary kids running to President Wilde's office every Sunday after church to tell him what they learned that day, and choose a treat or two.........

PRESTON
And the greatest of smiles comes when regardless of the question President Wilde asks him, Preston just smiles, and answers......JESUS.

Easter----is there any reason NOT to smile??

Oh, this posting just made me smile! Yes, you have so much to be grateful for! Bracken looks so handsome in his suit--and so grown up. Seriously, where did the years go? And Parker getting all the workers to play with him--that is so Parker! Tyson curled up at one end of the bed really tickled me. The dogs had spread out over 2/3s of the way! But Preston answering "Jesus" for every answer--now that just made me laugh out loud. Then seeing his cute face--well, that just made my day!

Alison, You seriously should be a writer! You do such a wonderful job of also sharing without bragging. I love reading every post you write. That comparison of your children to eggs was a classic.
P.S. Tell Bracken he looks so grownup and handsome with his cute date!

You have done such a great job recording your boys' growing up years. They will remember your thoughts and photos for years to come. I loved your "egg" words in reference to boys. Very creative and well-written. Such fun to read your blog.
