Is there anything more American than ELVIS??
Anybody that entered our neighborhood Halloween night, would never have guessed they were actually in China. Every expat around looks forward to this popular event of the year. The streets were packed, and candy was freely given from people who are from all over the world. The funnest part of all is exploring the candy bags once everyone gets home from trick or treating. The vote is still out as to what the "best" treat was. Thumbs up for the Toblerone chocolate from the Sweedish family, or the German gummy bears, but truthfully, the American Peanut Butter Cups, and Sour Patch Kids were first to be devoured!
As always, Tyson was preparing for his costume choice months ago. Thanks to our friends from Orlando and their successful "Costume Craze" business, every year we are always set with our costumes.
Who knew that among a group of cute teenager girls we would find our own teenage girl. We were as surprised as anyone to see that PARKER was actually one of them. Is this what our girls would look like??
With all the different languages spoken, this woman's message is universal--World Peace! (no, the necklace was not bought at any of the markets here in Shanghai---homemade jewelery--just like Alison to save John money!)
Thanks Anna, for handing out candy ALL NIGHT so we could hit the trick-or-treating hard!
And not to be forgotten, earlier that day a few Halloween festivities took place at SAS. Tyson's day was complete with a very special trip to the high school cafeteria with his mom (elementary students are only allowed to enter with a parent, so this is big time).

No doubt about it, you would have had really pretty girls. (But someone had to have all the boys for our girls to marry!) And you make one groovy chick!!
